Learn. Lead. Succeed
4+1 students interested in international business and experiencing cultural diversity before they enter the job market can now travel abroad to earn a Master in Management (MM) on top of your Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) without any additional time commitment.
As part of this unique program, you’ll spend six weeks in the Netherlands studying at the esteemed Maastricht School of Management. For the first four weeks you’ll study a diverse array of important topics, like entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy, and planning from an international perspective. You’ll complete a project on international business, and then you’ll cap your time abroad with company visits, lectures, and cross-cultural experiences.
As a Nichols 4+1 MBA student, you’ll complete 27 of your 36 master’s credits here at Nichols before travelling to satisfy the remaining 9 credits in residence at the Maastricht School of Management. When you’ve completed your time abroad, you’ll have earned your master’s degree from Nichols and an MM from the Maastricht School of Management.
And it’s not just for MBA students. 4+1 students studying for their Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) or Master of Science in Counterterrorism (MSC) can also apply. MSA and MSC students take 24 credits at Nichols and complete their degrees with 9 in the Netherlands.

You must be a full-time undergraduate day student at Nichols to participate in the 4+1 Program. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be accepted, and, to remain in the program, you must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA during your entire time at Nichols. As a 4+1 Program student, you would start your graduate coursework in the fall semester of your senior year. You can apply at any time (from first year to senior year). You can take a maximum of 7 graduate credits while you’re enrolled in the Nichols full-time undergraduate day program.
As long as you do not exceed 19 credits in the fall or spring of your senior year (including the graduate coursework), you won’t pay for the 7 graduate credits.
