BSBA in Sport Management

Sport Management majors (BSBA) at Nichols College graduate prepared to take on leadership positions in a growing and competitive field. The sports industry calls for leaders who love and live for competition and athletics. Our department faculty have over half a century of combined experience in marketing, coaching, and team management. With the guidance of these experts, students study:

  • governance and management of amateur and professional sports;
  • sport facility management;
  • event management;
  • high school and collegiate athletics administration; and
  • sponsorship and sales.

Every Nichols College student goes through an internship, gaining valuable experience and expanding their network—which comes in handy post-graduation. Recent students have interned at Madison Square Garden, the New York Rangers, the Boston Red Sox, and the New York Knicks, just to name a few. The opportunities are plentiful; whatever area you choose, Nichols will prepare you for a leading role.

The Sport Sales & Strategy degree program at Nichols College has received specialized accreditation through the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) located in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. The sport management program in the following degrees are accredited by COSMA:

Internships & Experiential Learning

Every Nichols College student benefits from an experiential learning opportunity. Students explore their passions by working with real businesses, community partners, or industry experts on projects that make an impactful difference. Because of our specialized focus on career readiness, students graduate with the experience and confidence they need to succeed in the real world.

Sport management students complete multiple internship/practicum opportunities. In 2024, that included forty-seven professional internships, seventeen students in the Super Bowl Practicum partnering with the National Football League, twelve students completing the Broadcasting Practicum, eleven students completing Sales Practicum, and thirteen students completing the Coaching Practicum.
