Nichols offers a variety of support services to help your student adjust to college life and succeed academically.
All students are assigned an advisor to help them make informed choices about their academic and career goals. From planning a program of study to completing the requirements of their major, an academic advisor is always available to help. Advisors are full-time professional staff or faculty members who are assigned to students based on their major and academic year.
Does your student struggle academically? The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is open more than 50 hours/week to assist students who need some extra help. Experienced peer tutors meet one-on-one with students to help explain assignments, review papers, prepare for tests, and much more. Students or parents with questions about the ARC’s services should contact the Director of ARC, Marissa Loon at 508-213-2200 or email: email@example.com.
If your student struggles with a learning disability (LD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder AD/HD, support services are available.
Your student has the right to privacy, so he or she must decide whether to disclose the learning difference to the Assistant Dean for Learning Services. Upon submitting documentation, students with learning differences may receive appropriate accommodations including:

Given the small class size at Nichols, you can rest assured that your student’s professors will know your student by name and will be available to meet on a one-on-one basis as needed. Our students often comment about the positive impact their professors have had on them due to the mentoring relationships they develop. It is not unusual for this connection to continue even after graduation.
Open Monday through Friday, Health Services provides care to all currently enrolled full-time day resident and commuter students. For more information visit the Health Services page.
