Student Clubs and Organizations

Nichols offers clubs and organizations for students of all backgrounds and experiences, including the Black Student Union, OLAS (Organization of Latin American Students), PRISM for LGBTQ+ students, Common Ground, and many more. The clubs and organizations are student-led, providing exceptional opportunities to build leadership skills, connect with peers and foster change.

The Black Student Union is dedicated to fostering a supportive community that highlights the struggles, achievements and rich history of Black people. Through advocacy, dialogue and inclusive programming, we strive to empower students of color and promote understanding among all races.

Common Ground is a Christian club that meets weekly through the year. Students are welcome to join the relaxed atmosphere that allows them to pursue and understand the teachings of the Bible in a respectful way. The group celebrates the common ground between Protestant and Catholic traditions and welcomes anyone from any faith or no faith. Additional opportunities for service projects and events with other campuses and retreats are also provided.

Men of Distinction provides an atmosphere of academic growth, community service, and mentorship to promote the highest ideals of citizenship according to the principles of leadership, service and scholarship. This teaches students to be successful, independent, self-sufficient men and will aid in their career path.

OLAS aims to celebrate and promote Latin and Caribbean culture by fostering awareness and appreciation through engaging events like food festivals, dance classes, and community outreach.

Pride Student Alliance exists to cultivate an affirming and empowering community for LGBTQ+ students and allies. Through advocacy, education, and celebration, we strive to promote visibility, understanding, and equity across campus.

The Sisterhood empowers women of color by fostering confidence, resilience, and community support. Through networking, professional development, and open dialogue, we create a safe space for growth, healing, and unity.

The Veterans Club supports veterans, their families, and dependents by providing resources, community and volunteer opportunities. Members assist local veterans, explore service initiatives, and attend social events such as hockey games, WooSox outings, and group dinners. The club also participates in regional and national conventions, celebrates Veterans Week, and offers a dedicated Veterans Lounge in Academy 102.

At Nichols, we celebrate the many cultures that make our campus vibrant and unique. From Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month to recognizing Ramadan and other awareness months, we create engaging events that invite you to share your story, traditions and experiences. Here, your culture isn’t just welcomed, it is celebrated.
