Global Education at Nichols College
Students entering the professional world need confidence and cultural awareness to navigate today’s global economy.
At Nichols College, you’ll learn practical habits and skills that are essential across a connected world, and you’ll have opportunities for gathering global perspectives. In addition, you have access to a range of options for study abroad, available through the Office for International Engagement. Studying abroad helps students broaden their cultural and intellectual horizons, which builds in-demand transferable and industry-specific skills.

International Student Support

International Study Opportunities
Nichols College offers multiple ways to gain international experience, whether you wish to study away for a full semester or over a short break. Students can study abroad, participate in faculty-led travel, complete an international internship or engage in short-term academic and cultural programs.
Study Abroad (Study Away) — Full Semester
Spend a full semester immersed in a new culture while completing academic credit toward your degree. Semester-long (and year-long) study abroad or study away experiences help students strengthen independence, adaptability and cultural understanding, giving you a competitive edge when it comes to getting that all-important first job after college.
While Nichols students can study anywhere in the world, frequent choices include: Barcelona, Spain; Athens, Greece; Dublin, Ireland; London, England; Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence, Italy; and Stirling, Scotland.
The College partners with a variety of third-party vendors including, but not limited to, Academic Programs International (API) and University Study Abroad Consortium.
Faculty-Led Travel Abroad — 8 to 15 Days of Travel
Join your classmates and a faculty leader on a course-related trip abroad to enhance your understanding of course topics by seeing them in action in an international context. These trips offer a way to gain exposure to another country without being away for a full semester. We currently offer a faculty-led trip to Costa Rica between semesters, where participants study the ecotourism and tourism industries and study the culture and customs of the Latin American nation.
International Internships — Full Semester or Six Weeks
Gain professional experience and global awareness through an international internship. Students work with approved partners abroad while earning academic credit and developing cross-cultural communication skills in real-world settings.
