Shamie Hall
The largest residence hall on campus, Shamie Hall, houses more than 330 students.
Common lounge areas, study rooms and laundry rooms are located on each of the three floors. Shamie Hall primarily houses first-year students in triple rooms with private bathrooms in each room. Right outside of Shamie Hall is a wiffle ball field, half basketball court and a patio for students to enjoy.
Relax and socialize in the 2nd floor Common Lounge, where there’s a pool table, as well as two big screen TVs for students to watch their favorite game or movie.
As one of our main residence halls for freshmen, Shamie Hall is centrally located, just steps from Lombard Dining Hall and a short walk to most academic buildings. Its location makes getting to class or grabbing a meal convenient for residents who want to stay connected to campus life.
Shamie Hall is air conditioned with elevator access for students. All Shamie rooms include a bed, mattress, wardrobe/dresser, desk, chair, shade/curtain and shower curtain.
Budleigh Hall
Located just in front of the Athletic Center, Budleigh Hall has distinctive, classical architecture. The building is coed by room and has two large study lounges, community bathrooms, and accommodations for 75 students. It includes single occupancy rooms, however it is mostly double occupancy rooms. Budleigh Hall sits only a few minutes from academic buildings and the dining hall, giving students an easy commute to class and a convenient place to meet friends between meals.
Center Hall
Center Hall is located between Remillard Hall and Budleigh Hall, and directly beside North Hall. The building is a single story, air-conditioned, all-male residence hall with a community bathroom, a study/recreation lounge and laundry facilities. Students interested in all-male college housing options can opt for Center Hall to live in double-occupancy rooms and in two quads.
Center Hall’s prime location puts residents close to both the Athletic Center and the main academic quad, with Lombard Dining Hall just a short walk away for easy access to campus dining.
Olsen Hall
This green residence hall has recycled flooring, geothermal heating and cooling, low VOC paint and Energy Star appliances. It is coed by room with community bathrooms on each floor and a popular lounge/study space. It houses 65 students in double and triple-occupancy rooms. Olsen Hall is just uphill from the main classroom buildings and only a quick walk to Lombard Dining Hall, making it easy for residents to balance study time and social time.
Remillard Hall
Remillard Hall (Rem) is home to more than 215 returning students on four floors of cluster concept housing. This brick and steel framed residence hall includes suites of double rooms with a shared bath, triple rooms with a shared bath and a few single rooms with personal baths. The lower level features two study lounges with a flat-screen TV in each, a public bathroom and a large laundry room. The building is located close to the Athletic Center and parking, as well as within walking distance of academic buildings and the dining hall. This building also houses an ATM machine (not bank specific).
Kuppenheimer Hall
Kuppenheimer (Kupp) Hall houses approximately 40 students in 4-person (2 bedroom) suites and one 3-person suite. All suites come with their own bathroom and furnished living space. Kuppenheimer Hall’s laundry facilities are located on the first floor. A kitchen is located on the second floor for all residents of the building to enjoy. Kupp is conveniently located next to Parking Lot N, and placed between Shamie and South Halls, within walking distance of both academic spaces and campus dining.
Winston Hall
Winston Hall is located on Center Road, just a short walk from the academic buildings and Lombard Dining Hall. This residence is coed by room with community bathrooms on each floor, and houses 16 students in mostly double-occupancy rooms. Winston Hall features laundry facilities, a shared kitchen and a large study/recreation lounge. Winston has a parking lot in the back for those residents with a vehicle.
North Hall
North Hall overlooks the volleyball, pickleball and tennis courts, and is located directly next to Center Hall. This residence is a single story, air-conditioned, all-female building with a community bathroom, a study/recreation lounge and laundry facilities. Students in North Hall live in double-occupancy rooms. Near the main campus walkways that lead directly to academic buildings and Lombard Dining Hall, North allows residents to reach classes and meals in just minutes.
Copper Beech I and II
Our Copper Beech Residence Halls provide apartment-style living for our students. Each building houses 60 students in a combination of 2 bedroom/1 bath and 4 bedroom/2 bath suites. Each apartment provides a full kitchen and a living area. All students have access to an on-campus convenience store, the Becker Market, which is located in Copper Beech I lobby, and an ATM (non-bank specific) and vending machines are located in Copper Beech II lobby.
All apartments come with a full size refrigerator, oven and stove top in the kitchen area, and furnished living/dining area. Each Copper Beech has laundry facilities conveniently located on the second floor, a billiards table on the second floor, and a separate study lounge located on the third floor.
Although designed for more independent living, Copper Beach I and II are close to key campus areas, with easy access to academic buildings and campus dining. They are ideal for students who want apartment-style living without leaving the heart of dorm life at Nichols College.

Can I choose my roommate?
You may pick the person or people you would like to live with. Every effort will be made to house roommate requests together. You will notify us of your roommate choices by completing the online roommate match information that will be given out at Orientation.
What’s included in the rooms?
All rooms on campus come with a twin XL bed and mattress, wardrobe/dresser, desk, chair, and shade/curtain.

Who is eligible for housing at Nichols College?
To live in Nichols College housing, an individual must be a full-time, in-person, matriculated degree student, maintaining a minimum of 12 credits. A student who withdraws from the College, takes a leave of absence, is academically dismissed or dismissed for disciplinary reasons must vacate housing within seventy-two (72) hours of withdrawal or dismissal, unless otherwise directed by a College official.
OR
Part-time (less than 12 credit hours) students in good academic standing may petition for an exemption to policy by emailing Residence Life. Dropping to part-time status from full-time status can but does NOT automatically cancel a housing contract.
