- 95% of recent graduates were employed or in a graduate program six months after graduation.
- 100% of Nichols students are required to complete an internship and a research, experiential or consulting projects, and every business student earns a professional certification before graduating.

Career Readiness Starts on Day One
From their first semester, Nichols College students develop essential professional skills. They learn the foundations of networking, resume building and professional etiquette through our three-year Professional Development Seminar, supported by the Career and Professional Development Center.
Freshman Year: Making the Transition
Provides exposure to all campus resources, goal setting, relationship building, time management and more.
Sophomore Year: Developing Your Brand
Deep dives into resume development, LinkedIn and Handshake profiles and interviewing, being the first of two mock interview years.
Junior Year: Refining Your Skills
Focuses on refining interviewing and networking skills with required in-class employer-conducted mock interviews and attendance at career fair with 60+ organizations in attendance.
After Graduation
Nichols alumni are connected for life, with continued access to free career coaching as their goals and careers evolve. An engaged and supportive alumni network also provides lasting opportunities for mentorship, networking and professional growth.
Hands-On Learning for Career Preparation
Training in soft skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, public speaking and adaptability is integrated across all programs at Nichols, and throughout your academic journey. These skills are practiced through group projects, case studies and interactive assignments, as well as in leadership programming.
Consulting Projects
Students in programs from marketing to criminal justice to human resources work in groups to complete consulting-style assignments for real organizations.
Field Experiences
Nichols College coursework is connected to real-world practice. Students may plan events, act as secret shoppers, simulate global investment decisions or create business plans for new products during the course of their studies.
Public Speaking and Presentations
Speaking practice is woven into the curriculum. Events such as the annual Elevator Speech Competition, Second Year Success Roundtable, and speed networking events can help students further sharpen their public speaking skills.

Three-Year Professional Development Seminar
Our three-year Professional Development Seminar is dedicated to mastering career fundamentals. Seminar participants write resumes and cover letters, develop networking and personal branding tactics and strengthen interviewing skills through mock interviews.
Lead 120 Seminar
Leads 120 is a highly interactive introduction to leadership practice. Students work in teams to solve business problems using case studies, and they’re encouraged to find their own leadership style. The Lead 120 Guest Speaker Series provides you with insider perspectives from successful Nichols College alumni.
The Emerging Leaders Program
The Emerging Leaders Program is our intensive leadership development program for further study. Workshops, films, speakers, community service activities, field trips and networking events focus on ethics, social responsibility and conflict resolution.
