Nichols has received a commitment of $1 million from John H. McClutchy, Jr. ’72, chairman of the Nichols Board of Trustees, and his wife, Janet.
In officially making the announcement at the President’s Society Dinner on October 18th, Nichols President Susan West Engelkemeyer thanked McClutchy for his loyalty, generosity and leadership and for helping “to advance the mission of Nichols and attain our vision.”
Engelkemeyer also noted, “As chairman of our board, John is dedicated to seeing Nichols reach its full potential, and this generous gift is further evidence of his commitment to making that happen.”
A portion of the gift from McClutchy, who is president of JHM Group of Companies, a real estate development, finance and renewable energy firm in Stamford, Connecticut, will be used as a challenge to engage new and existing donors. It comes one year after the College announced a $5 million commitment from an anonymous donor.
Both gifts will support the strategic initiatives outlined by Engelkemeyer for Nichols to become a college of choice for business and leadership education.
