Christine Ward will never forget her semester abroad as one of Nichols first students to take advantage of European University’s (EU) extraordinary campus located in the trendy Bonanova area of Barcelona, Spain. For this Tewksbury, Massachusetts resident, there’s a huge career advantage to understanding the European perspective.
EU and Nichols business programs offer a strong connection between the workplace and classroom, providing students with a truly global experience. And these programs share a significant synergy: small, dynamic classes (between 20-25 students) taught in English and faculty with both academic credentials and relevant work experience.
Ward considered studying in London but wanted the challenge of being immersed in different languages ─ in this case, Catalan and Spanish. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, one of Spain’s 17 autonomous communities sprawled between the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea and the hills of Montjuic.
“Barcelona is filled with passionate people who love life, art, fine cuisine. I made lifelong friends and really miss the spectacular view from the rooftop of my student residence at the marina,” says Ward.
A business major with a concentration in Business Communications, Ward says: “I learned that I can excel in any environment, navigate around a large city, and appreciate cultural differences.” After ending her semester abroad with high grades, she’s ready to jump into a challenging career in business.
