Webster Five Cents Savings Bank Donates $7,500 to Fund Nichols’ Work-study Mentors
The Webster Five Foundation, as part of its Web of Caring to Make a Difference Program, has donated $7,500 to a Nichols College collaborative program with the Boys and Girls Club of Webster-Dudley. The funds will provide valuable work-study opportunity to six-eight Nichols students who serve as youth counselors or tutors, and provide supervision, instruction and attention to the children in the Afterschool Program in the Marilyn and Gerald Fels Clubhouse.
Richard T. Leahy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Webster Five Cents Savings Bank, and Karen Kempskie-Aquino, Vice President, presented a check to Nichols College President Susan West Engelkemeyer and Vice President for Enrollment & Marketing Thomas R. Cafaro on Friday, December 16th.
“Nichols is grateful for the generous donation made by The Webster Five Foundation as it supports approximately 150 children in the afterschool program from the towns of Webster and Dudley,” said President Engelkemeyer, Ph.D.
Leahy added, “The Nichols College Collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of Webster-Dudley is a great example of people in the community coming together to make an important investment in the lives of children. Webster Five is pleased to be able to support such a great cause.”
