October 29, 2025

DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College earned recognition in the 2025-26 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, jumping to No. 118 in the competitive Regional Universities-North category. This category covers a geographic area from Maryland to Maine, a region densely populated with institutions of higher education.

The College was also ranked 74th among top performers in social mobility, up from 76th one year ago. These institutions rank highly in the number of Pell Grant–eligible students they enroll and graduate. The vast majority of federally awarded Pell Grants are given to students whose adjusted gross family incomes are under $50,000.

The U.S. News rankings consider a variety of factors to provide students and parents with an objective basis to compare institutions and help guide college selection. Among these are: graduation and retention rates, Pell Grant graduation rates, peer assessment, faculty salaries, student-faculty ratio and more.
