Dr. Casey-Williams’ doctoral dissertation examines literature and history from 1588 to 1688, specifically four women's writing from that time, and how it thinks through and proposes alternatives to traditional narratives of sovereignty. Her primary areas of interest include women's writing of the early modern period, gender and minority studies, and political theory and philosophy.
