Learn. Lead. Succeed
The Fischer Institute delivers programs that give opportunities outside the classroom for students to think critically through exposure to worldwide contemporary issues and ideas across disciplines and cultures.
Fisher Focus events offer academic experiences outside the classroom, on campus and off, through partnerships with faculty and student groups. The Fischer Focus mission is to expand student learning and to offer opportunities for student leadership and collaboration with faculty. Event and outing topics include society, economics, public policy and politics, global issues—everything that matters. All events are free and open to all interested students and their guests.
The Washington Center
The Fischer Institute partners with The Washington Center (TWC) in Washington D.C. to provide qualifying Nichols students with seminars and internships in our nation's capital. This partnership facilitates internship programs in Business, Economics, and Trade; Journalism, Media, and Communication; Government and Politics; International Relations; and Legal Affairs and Criminal Justice.
Rising juniors in high academic standing may apply through the Fischer Institute, and a scholarship is available for a qualifying Nichols student each year.
