The Nichols College Counseling Services (NCCS) is devoted to utilizing a wide-range of strengths-based and student-centered therapeutic modalities to assist students in their journey to optimal emotional health and personal growth. Our team is committed to an integrative approach within the greater Nichols community. It is our mission to decrease the stigma around mental health issues and empower the Nichols community to support the counseling needs of our students with our ‘Speak Up, Reach Out, & Ask for Help’ ideology.
The counseling center offers experienced professional therapists who can help you explore your concerns about mental health, substance abuse/addiction, and life stressors. We value each person for their unique personality, perspective, background and culture.

If you are on campus and in need of emergency response, please contact Public Safety at 508-213-2298 and they can assist you 24/7. If you are off campus and in need of emergency response, please call 911 or report to your nearest Emergency Department.
Although there continues to be uncertainty with COVID-19, Counseling Services is committed to providing students accessible to mental health care while staying safe through use of a hybrid model. Appointments will be available in-person and virtual using a HIPPA secure telehealth platform if needed.
Meet the team!
Kate Logan is a graduate of Nichols College and returned to the Hill as the Director of Counseling Services. Kate obtained her Master’s in Social Work – specializing in group work - from Boston University and has had multiple years of clinical experience treating individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues in various settings including the court system, outpatient therapy, inpatient psychiatric hospital, and emergency services. Kate is excited to rejoin the Nichols community and lead our Counseling Services department.
Brittany Henderson graduated from Springfield College with a Master’s Degree in Athletic Counseling and C.A.G.S in Mental Health Counseling. Her clinical practice has ranged from college counseling centers to community health centers where she has been exposed to a wide span of mental health presentations ranging from severe and complex trauma to substance use, depression and anxiety. Brittany has extensive experience in, and feels very passionate about working with college students and is especially looking forward to working with college level athletes around performance enhancement, mental toughness and goal setting.
