Stanton Joins Nichols College as Vice President for Administration

Michael J. Stanton
has been named vice president for administration at Nichols College, a private business college located in Dudley, Mass.

“I am delighted that Michael has agreed to join Nichols. He brings a wealth of knowledge as a seasoned financial leader with strong technical, business and operational experience,” states President Debra M. Townsley.

Stanton will be responsible for key departments on campus, including: the Business Office; Buildings & Grounds; Facilities; Food Services; Human Resources; Bookstore and Public Safety. In addition, he will generate financial reports for the Board of Trustees, manage and oversee the college budget, and act as the primary contact for contracted services -- managing the request for proposal process, taking the lead in contract negotiations and monitoring progress/adherence to contract provisions.

Stanton comes to Nichols College from the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) where he held the position of controller and was responsible for the integrity of financial operations, including accounts payable, bursar, financial aid, general accounting and payroll functions, as well as financial planning and oversight of the Worcester City Campus Corporation, the real estate management and development subsidiary of UMMS.

Prior to UMMS, he was director of accounting for the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority, controller for All Seasons Services, Inc., and manager of financial reporting for Rolls-Royce Naval Marine, Inc.

Stanton holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and M.B.A. from Bryant University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

He lives in Walpole, Mass., with his wife, Marianne, and three children.
