Specifically, President Townsley is addressing the House Ways and Means Committee's Subcommittee on Select Revenue / Higher Education Tax Incentives and asking the Subcommittee and Full Committee to:
-Continue their commitments to our students and our institutions by retroactively extending both the tuition deduction and the IRA charitable rollover
-Make permanent important provisions that will expire at the end of 2010, including Section 127 - employer-provided education assistance, the improvements made to the Student Loan Interest Deduction, and the preferential tax treatment of Education Savings Accounts
President Townsley concludes that a partnership "between Congress and institutions of higher education will allow us to continue to provide the best college education available in the world, as we prepare today's students to be tomorrow's leaders."
