Historical background, geography, society, economy, transportation and telecommunications, government and politics, and national security. From the Library of Congress.
Scroll through the list of countries and click on Snapshot. - "facts, figures, economic indicators and country tax rates for 100 significant trading countries around the world.
Reports on country political structure, resources and infrastructure (including population, education, health, natural resources), economy and economic sectors.

To see if your country of interest is available:
1. Find the search box to limit search "to the following journals" and click on the Browse link
2. Search for title Economist Intelligence Unit: Country Profile: [your country of interest]. Check off that box
3. Click on 'Submit Selection' link on left-side menu. This will return you to the orignal search screen
4. Click on the 'Search' button.
5. Scroll through results for various sector reports.

For each country, map and flag, geographic, population, government, economic, communication, transportation, military, and transnational issue information is provided. Snapshots - "facts, figures, economic indicators and country tax rates for 100 significant trading countries around the world.
Business Guides - "regulatory, tax and business matters, including the investment climate, labour relations and work force considerations, business regulations, foreign investment and tax rates for major trading nations."
Detailed information on regulations related to starting a business, hiring and firing workers, enforcing contracts, getting credit, and closing a business in numerous countries. Click on Country by name, then click on 'More details' above chart or 'Detailed descriptions' below chart. (From the World Bank)
