Nichols College hosted the annual Leadership Development Institute (LDI) for the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC) from August 5-7, 2013. The leaders of the association gathered to prepare for the coming year, to get to know each other, and to conduct the summer meeting. “Nichols College was the perfect backdrop for the program,” says Kelly Montrym, president of NEACAC. “Their central location within New England, beautiful apartment style residence halls, and gracious hospitality provided the perfect setting for us to accomplish all the tasks at hand.”
In all, 37 association leaders representing 17 colleges and 12 secondary schools and academies were represented with counselors coming from as far as New Hampshire and Maine.
The Nichols admissions team also experienced the benefits of having the group on campus. “We appreciated the opportunity to interact with these leaders and to showcase the campus to members of the NEACAC leadership group,” says Paul Brower, Nichols director of admissions. “Overall, it was a wonderful experience for our enrollment team to network with their colleagues from other colleges and high schools on our own campus. I hope that we have the opportunity to host many more events for NEACAC in the years to come,” he adds.
