Orientation
College has enough stress without having to find your way around on the first day for the first time.
So Nichols has a College Orientation Program that can introduce you to your classmates... find where to eat... and get you started on college.
Things you can do during orientation:
Pre-register for classes
Meet people who will be grading you later
Meet who you will be dating soon
Find the club you are going to join
Find the fastest way across campus
Find where you can get coffee when you really need it.
It's important stuff... here is the schedule for your Class of 2011 students.
Orientation Overview Under Campus Life
The Nichols College Orientation Program is designed to assist you, the new student, in obtaining the best possible start to your college education. Orientation for new Freshman starts well before the school year to give you an opportunity to:
Meet classmates and friends
Pre-register for classes
Mingle with faculty
Enjoy endless opportunities for involvement and fun!
You will learn about academic life, opportunities for involvement in student organizations and athletics, and other services provided by the College.
We ask that all new students attend the Orientation in June because it offers an important experience for the participants. Our hope is that it will better prepare you for your stay at Nichols. The orientation schedule for the Class of 2011 is as follows:
Friday/Saturday, June 22-23, 2007
Monday/Tuesday, June 25-26, 2007
Thursday/Friday, June 28-29, 2007
Monday, July 16, 2007 (Transfer Session)
Overnight Accommodations
While attending the June Orientation you will stay in Shamie Hall (triple occupancy - we'll match roommates for the program). You must bring a sleeping bag or blanket and pillow, bath linen, toiletries, comfortable clothes, and an alarm clock.
This is a great opportunity to experience on-campus living first hand and to check out where you might be living next year! For those of you who plan to commute in the fall, you will have the chance to meet and spend time with future classmates.

Parent Orientation Program
Here at Nichols College, we understand that the transition from high school to college can be a difficult one - not only for students, but for their families as well. To help make things easier, we have developed a special one-day program for parents that is held on Day One of each session.
This program is completely different from presentations you may have seen at our Admissions Open Houses. The sessions are much more in-depth and are designed to make you better informed about what to expect from us, as well as from your student, during the academic year. Parent Orientation will also be vastly different from the student program. Parents and students will be separated right after the check-in process and will not attend any of the sessions together during the day.
Lunch will be provided at the Parent Orientation Program. At this time, we are unable to provide overnight accommodations for family member who have traveled significant distances.
We strongly encourage parents to attend this program. Registration materials are located within the Student Orientation brochure.
