On-Campus Services
The following services are provided by the Information Technology Department to students of Nichols College at its Dudley, MA campus:
- Cable Television
- Each Residence Hall room is equipped with one Cable TV connection
- Students must supply a TV and a coaxial cable for their room
- Extended Basic cable channels are provided
- Computing Resources
- Public computers in Alumni Hall
- Public computers in Conant Library
- Black (free) and color (nominal fee) printing in Conant Library
- Software
- Microsoft Office 2007 Professional from Nichols Bookstore (fee)
- Symantec Antivirus downloadable from Nichols ResNet
- Internet in Residence Halls
- All rooms in the residence halls provide dedicated always on internet access using wired Ethernet jacks.
- All that is needed to get connected is a Category 5 or better Ethernet patch cable. (25' is recommended)
- Personal Computer Support Services
- Walk-in support for Nichols recommended Lenovo systems
- Basic support for networking issues
- Basic support for spyware or virus issues
- Email and mailbox issues
- Password reset
- WebAdvisor issues
- WebCT log on issues
- Phone Services
- Each Resident Student is assigned a phone extension and voicemail box
- Students must supply a phone set
- Students have free access to local and 800 dialing from their rooms
- ECCI provides long distance phone service for Nichols students
- Wireless Networking
- Wireless hot spots are available free of charge in student common areas around campus including the library, dining hall, snack bar, and Davis cafe.
