| A Bachelors of Arts requires the successful completion of 120 academic credit hours (approximately 40 courses). To specialize in History, students are required to complete 30 credit hours (10 courses) in this area of expertise. The following chart summarizes the distribution of credit hours. |

The mission of the history program is threefold:

| Liberal studies combine core curriculum courses with selected upper level offerings producing graduates who are: capable or critical, logical, scientific thinking; appreciative of the aesthetic and ethical aspects of life; and dedicated to lifelong learning. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| In addition, history students can enroll in the Education Preparation Program to prepare for a license to teach history at the middle school and secondary school levels. | |||||||||||||||||||||
