In order to find this type of fit you will need to assess yourself, learn about career options, and work toward making sound career decisions that integrate the information you have discovered. Individual Career Counseling
Individual career counseling is available to all current students and alumni of Nichols College. Career counseling provides opportunities to explore career planning issues in depth, and takes into account a broad range of developmental issues.
The career counseling provided by The Office of Career Services is based upon a four stage model of career development. The first stage, self-assessment, provides students with an opportunity to assess their interests, abilities, values, and skills and to begin to reflect upon the ways in which these factors relate to career choice. The second stage, exploration, involves learning about various career fields and evaluating their desirability and feasibility. The third stage, focus, explores specific and attainable goals based on results from your assessment and exploration reflection. The final stage, strategy/implementation, involves developing a plan of action and taking the steps necessary (i.e. writing cover letters and resumes, applying to graduate schools) in order to reach their identified career objectives.
