Register Online with WebAdvisor
If you are a NEW student and do not have a WebAdvisor ID/password please click below to request one.
Request WebAdvisor Logon
All WebAdvisor requests will be processed within one business day. Once you receive your WebAdvisor logon information you will need to follow the directions below.
WebAdvisor works best with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. You may wish to print these instructions using your browser's print function before continuing with the registration process.
- When you are ready to register click on the link: WebAdvisor
- Once the WebAdvisor homepage is loaded click on the "Log In" button in the upper right hand corner.
- User Name is first initial, middle initial, last name (example: if your name is James A. Jones, your username will be jajones. If no middle initial exists in the system, the username would be jjones).
Your initial password is as follows #fmlMMDDYYYY. The password begins with the # symbol. "fml" is the first/middle/last initials of the person's name. "MMDDYYYY" is the person's date of birth in month/day/year format (including zeros; i.e. "06072006").
If you have problems logging into WebAdvisor, you will need to contact the Information Technology (I.T.) Department Help Desk at (508) 213-2206, or visit the I.T. Department located on the Lower Level of the Library, on our Main campus in Dudley.
After you have entered your User Name & Password click the "Submit" button.
- Select "WebAdvisor for Students."
- Choose "Register for sections."
- Select "Search and register for sections."
- First choose the semester from the drop down menu. Next choose the subject from the drop down menu. Then enter the course number. Then click the "Submit" button. Every section of this course for the semester (day and evening) will be listed. Make sure you check the "Location" and "Meeting Information" before you select your course. Once you choose the section you want, click the box next to it. Then click the "Submit" button.
- The final step to register is selecting "RG- Register" in the "Action" section next to your course. Finally click on the "Submit" button. Note: If a class is closed or you don't have the necessary pre-requisite(s) you will be told this at the top of the screen. You are now registered in the sections you have chosen.
- The next to the last step is to pay for the courses you have selected. Click on the MENU option located top right of page. On the Main Menu Page select the Make a Payment option under the Financial Profile section. After entering the required information make sure you click on the "Submit" button.
- The last step is to Log Out when you are finished.
Note: To check if your registration went through, while logged into WebAdvisor check your class schedule. You will also be notified via Nichols Email of your registration.
THE COLLEGE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY COURSE BECAUSE OF INADEQUATE ENROLLMENT OR STAFF AVAILABILITY, AND TO LIMIT CLASS SIZE DUE TO OVERENROLLMENT. ANY TIME THE COLLEGE EXERCISES THIS RIGHT A STUDENT'S SCHEDULE MAY BE AFFECTED.
Issues with WINDOWS VISTA
Nichols College Information Technology is currently testing the compatability of current Nichols software on a Windows Vista system. To this date, we are aware of two issues, which are directly related to the new security features of the Vista version of Internet Explorer 7:
Problem:
Nichols Email - you will not be able to compose or reply to any emails
WebAdvisor - you will not be able to access WebAdvisor
Resolution: Install a different browser, such as
Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/)
Netscape (http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/)
IT will continue to research Windows Vista and will let you know of any other issues.
