WNRC Dedication

2004 DEDICATION OF THE STATION TO JAMES C. GAHAN, IV

The new studio for the Nichols College radio station (at that time WNRC 95.1 FM) was dedicated in the memory of James C. Gahan IV, a Nichols student who perished in the tragic Station nightclub fire in Rhode Island in February 2003.

Gahan was a DJ at the college radio station who hosted the popular “Jim and Mikey’s Power Hour” show with classmate, Michael Ricardi, a survivor of the fire. Jimmy Gahan’s parents, James Gahan III and Carol Gahan of Falmouth, MA. unveiled the plaque bearing their son’s name at the dedication.

The new WNRC studio was made possible by generous support from alumnus and college Trustee Robert Kuppenheimer ’69, the Jimmy Gahan Charitable Foundation, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Gahan III, and the Nichols Student Government Association. The studio was built by the College’s Buildings and Grounds Department as part of a complete renovation of Alumni Hall, the Nichols Student Center.
