BlackBerry and Nichols E-mail Synchronization

1.  Perform a Register Now operation on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, click HERE.


2.  Navigate to your wireless service provider's BlackBerry Internet Service account page.

  • Note: To find your service provider's BlackBerry Internet Service web site, go to the Support section on the BlackBerry web site (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/software/internet.jsp) and click the link for your service provider in the Accessing the BlackBerry Internet Service Website section.

3.  Click Create New Account.

4.  Read the BlackBerry Internet Service End User Agreement, and place a check mark in the box labeled I have read and understand the Legal Terms and Conditions. Click I Agree.

5.  Type the personal information number (PIN) and International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) or electronic serial number (ESN) for your BlackBerry smartphone, and click Continue.

  • Note: For instructions on how to locate the PIN, IMEI or ESN on your BlackBerry smartphone, click HERE.

6.  Type a user name and password, and click Next.

7.  Your BlackBerry Internet Service account is now set up. You may begin adding email accounts.

8.  Complete the Email address, Password, and Confirm password fields, and click Next.

9.  Select I will provide the settings to add this email account and click Next.

10. Select This is my work email account and click Next.

11. In the Outlook® / Exchange® section, select I can access my email account using a Web Browser (Outlook® Web Access), and then click Next.

12. Complete the required fields.

13. Click Next. If the account has been properly configured you will see the following message, click OK. The Microsoft Outlook Web Access account should appear in your list of integrated email accounts. You should start receiving e-mail within 20 minutes.


If you see the We were unable to configure this mailbox message, the integration failed for one of the following reasons:

  • The email account information was typed incorrectly. Repeat the process.
  • There is a temporary connection problem between the BlackBerry Internet Service web site and the Microsoft Exchange Server on which your mailbox resides. Try integrating your BlackBerry Internet Service account later.
