Summer Job Club
The Office of Career Services' Summer Job Club is now underway for recent graduates and Alumni who are currently engaged in an active job search. The Summer Job Club meets every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30am in the Office of Career Services (second floor of the Student Services Building). It is not too late to join, for more information or to register, please contact Liz Horgan at Elizabeth.Horgan@nichols.edu. This effort is intended to serve as a focal point for support, networking and career strategies. Some of the topics that will be addressed are as follows:
• Develop job seeking skills and techniques such as revising resume
and constructing an application letter
• Develop an individual job search plan
• Prepare for interviews
• Build relationships and rapport
• Develop verbal communication skills as well as body language skills
• Identify individual strengths and skills and match them to local
work opportunities
• Identify ways to improve job seeking decision-making capabilities
• Explore and analyze local work opportunities
• Have access to the facilities of the Job Club (telephones, computer,
email, newspapers etc.)
• Develop a network of contacts which can be of help in getting work
For local job seekers, the Club will meet weekly in Career Services. For those interested in participating, but are unable to travel to campus, Career Services will be hosting a Virtual Job Club, which provides similar services conveniently to out-of-town participants. In order to join the Virtual Job Club you need to have a LinkedIn Account and be an Alumni of Nichols College, currently active in the job search. If you do not already have LinkedIn, please join today. Once you are on LinkedIn, search groups for "Nichols Career Services" and click "join group". Road to Success
OCS is pleased to announce the implementation of its new Recruiting Program, Road to Success. This program is designed to connect students and alumni with employers during the recruiting process. The system allows students to upload resumes/cover letters, search and apply for jobs and internships, and learn about each organization in the system plus much more. Employers can post full-time jobs and internships, search student resumes, manage on-interview schedules, and register for recruiting events such as our Annual Career Fair, on-campus recruiting, and information sessions/tables.
