Colleges of Worcester Consortium Career Fair on March 24th - Open to Nichols Students

Career Services departments at Colleges of Worcester Consortium member colleges work together to provide this annual event to assist Consortium students in their career search. This year's Career Fair is Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm at the DCU Center located at 50 Foster Street, Worcester, MA 01608.  Jobs, co-ops and internships are offered. Contacts are made and your questions are answered. All majors and class years are welcome - there will be something for everyone! Federal Employment Guest Speaker Addressed Nichols Community

Career Services and the Fischer Institute were pleased to welcome Kim Ainsworth, Executive Director of the Greater Boston Federal Executive Board to Nichols College on December 2, 2009. Ainsworth spoke on current and upcoming employment opportunities in various branches of the federal government and offered insight into the application and hiring process. As Executive Director, Ainsworth is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Federal Executive Board. She leads the implementation, planning and program management of all activities and programs under the two FEB's two lines of business and acts as chief advisor to the Board of Directors. Federal Employment/Call to Serve

We are very happy to announce that Nichols College recently became a Call to Serve Member School. Call to Serve is a joint effort of the Partnership for Public Service and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management with the goal of educating college students about the importance of a strong civil service and providing you with key information about federal jobs.  Click here to be taken to the Federal Employment section where you can learn more about this and explore a possible career with the Federal Government.



Work-Study Program/Campus Employment

Students eligible for work-study, who did not utilize it during the fall semester or receive the appropriate paperwork should pick up their pink work-study packet from the Financial Aid Office upon returning to campus for the Spring 2010 semester.  All available work-study positions for the spring semester will be posted on Road to Success . Also visit the Financial Aid website for Work-Study policies.

Campus Employment is available after October 1st to any student who has not been awarded work-study.  Pick up your blue packet in the Office of Financial Aid.



On-Campus Recruiting

The Nichols College Job Search and Recruiting Programs are available to all Nichols students and alumni. Our programs include resume referral and on-campus recruiting through our web-based recruiting system Road to Success.  Please click here to view the companies registered to come on campus this spring so far. Spring 2010 On-Campus Recruiting runs from February 8th to April 23rd with the exception of Spring Break, March 15th-19th.

Companies are added to the Recruiting Calendar continually throughout the year. Students interested in internship and job opportunities are encouraged to log on to Road to Success daily to view On-Campus Interview Schedules.



Virtual Job Club/LinkedIn

The Office of Career Services is hosting a Virtual Job Club. This effort is intended to serve as a focal point for support, networking and career strategies. Career Services posts job opportunities to the Virtual Job Club on a weekly basis. In order to join the Virtual Job Club you need to have a LinkedIn Account and be an Alumni of Nichols College, currently active in the job search. If you do not already have LinkedIn, please join today. Once you are on LinkedIn, search groups for "Nichols Career Services" and click "join group". Road to Success

OCS is pleased to announce the implementation of its new Recruiting Program, Road to Success. This program is designed to connect students and alumni with employers during the recruiting process. The system allows students to upload resumes/cover letters, search and apply for jobs and internships, and learn about each organization in the system plus much more. If you are a Nichols student and would like to learn more about this program please click here.

Employers can post full-time jobs and internships, search student resumes, manage on-interview schedules, and register for recruiting events such as our Annual Career Fair, on-campus recruiting, and information sessions/tables.
