Instructions for Registration Using WebAdvisor
The following instructions apply to Day Students registering for Spring 2008 courses only.
Please have ready your completed Registration Form with synonyms, that you and your advisor have reviewed and/or a printed copy of the Spring 2008 schedule.
WebAdvisor works best with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. You may wish to print these instructions using your browser's print function before continuing with the registration process. When you are ready to register click on the link below:
1) Once the WebAdvisor homepage is loaded click on the “Log In” button in the upper right hand corner.
2) Your WebAdvisor User ID & Password are the same as those used for your current Nichols College e-mail account. If you do not know or have forgotten your User Name & Password you will need to contact the Information Technology (I.T.) Department Help Desk at x2206, or visit the I.T. Department located on the Lower Level of the Library.
After you have entered you User ID & Password click the “Submit” button.
3) Select “Students" link on right.
4) Choose “Register for Sections" under the Registration header.
5) Select “Express registration”.
6) Enter the course “Synonym” (make sure that each synonym is 5 digits long) for each course you want to take and click the “Submit” button. DO NOT FILL IN ANY OF THE OTHER COLUMNS.
7) The final steps to register for courses include:
8) Your final screen will appear. At this point you are now registered in the sections you have chosen. You should always check the "My Schedule" link in the WebAdvisor Student section to double check that your registration has correctly gone through.
9) IMPORTANT: Always remember to Log Out when you are done.
ISSUES WITH WINDOWS VISTA:
Nichols College Information Technology is currently testing the compatability of current Nichols software on a Windows Vista system. To this date, we are aware of two issues, which are directly related to the new security features of the Vista version of Internet Explorer 7:
Problem:
Nichols Email - you will not be able to compose any new emails or reply to any emails
WebAdvisor - you will not be able to access WebAdvisor
Resolution: Install a different browser, such as:
Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/)
Netscape (http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/)
IT will continue to research Windows Vista and will let you know of any other issues.
