Third-Year PDS is designed to provide the Nichols College junior with experiential education in the interview process while providing the opportunity to enhance the portfolio and resume within ethical and professional standards. To provide educational continuity in career exploration and portfolio development from the sophomore to senior level PDS courses.
Third-Year PDS is designed to set a framework for career decision making, refining interview skills, and developing an individual presentation through the portfolio.
The heart of the course is the continued development of the student portfolio, a collection of each student's work, goals, experiences, accomplishments and achievements. Students will expand the portfolio with an emphasis on their individual achievement and success.
Another focus of the course is gaining interview experience through 4 weeks of mock interviews both as an interviewer and interviewee.
Additionally, the class includes other relevant career topics as professionalism, communication skills, and post-graduation options.
