Teaching Philosophy / Goals

For most students, computers are a familiar tool. However, the world of Managment Information Systems is only partially understood. As an MIS professor, my goal is to improve the level of understanding which students have about computers.

For MIS majors, students will learn about all aspects of Information Technology - programming, analysis, networking, databases, IT management, cyber-issues - to prepare them for a career in MIS.

Interests

Although my graduate work in computer science focused in the database field, I am most interested in how technology is being practically applied in the business world. I am also interested in how technology is being used in education.

I am an avid Red Sox fan, and am still feeling good about the 2004 championship season. I grew up in Montreal so I also enjoy most winter sports - I play hockey and ski as often as possible.
