I am Professor Shea and I have been part of Nichols College adjunct faculty since January 2003. I graduated from The Citadel (The Military College of South Carolina) with a BA in Psychology and Troy State University with an MS in Business Management. I am currently an Officer in the United States Marine Corps, I have served since 1995. I have held numerous positions of leadership during my tenure as a Marine both in command and staff positions. The leadership experiences I have gained in the military will help me to serve you well in your pursuit for excellence through Nichols College.
My career and educational background provide me with the essential tools needed to motivate and enhance the learning experience of today's student. As a leader with years of experience mentoring subordinate Marines in pursuit of Mission Accomplishment, I know how to focus the efforts of students so that they gain as much "real life" knowledge as possible from my courses, without burdening them with busy work. I allow students to utilize their own life experiences in order to learn the subject matter of the course. This will keep you interested in the coursework and allow all students to learn from one another enhancing your classroom experience. As a consummate professional, I enjoy feedback from my students on how I can improve so that we can all progress. Challenge yourself everyday and you will have no regrets.
My personal interests are my family; I am married with two children and spend much of my free time with them. I enjoy keeping myself physically fit; I have run a couple marathons and competed in sprint triathlons. I also enjoy mountain climbing, skiing, scuba diving, and traveling.
