Teaching Philosophy and Goals
My experiences in economic and business forecasting have greatly influenced my approach to academic instruction in my fields of economics, finance and quantitative methods. The ability to carry out numerical computations, while quite important, will not be sufficient in becoming a capable decision-maker. Concepts and formulas are most usefully taught and understood in the context of the decision-making situations managers and administrators confront and resolve. My approach to teaching for both the MBA and undergraduate levels is informed by this understanding.
Interests
My personal interest in sports matches a professional academic interest in the economic and financial aspects of the business of sports - a fine conjunction. Moreover, I also enjoy keeping fit and have pursued a program of running (now jogging) since high school days.
