Teaching Philosophy/Goals

Leveraging my 25 years of business experience in various industries (including high tech, biotech, construction, consumer products, financial services and manufacturing), I am able to illustrate real world examples of business theories and incorporate current business events into each class session.

This approach allows me to bring the class materials to life and allows my students to effectively apply specific principles and theories to familiar, relevant business situations, processes and operations.

Interests

As a certified Project Management Institute's project management professional, I am actively involved in the organization's Central Massachusetts chapter. I have taught various workshops in business process reengineering and project management. As an independent consultant, I enjoy applying my business skills to help companies improve their business operations.

I enjoy traveling and I have been fortunate to have had opportunities to travel throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. My experience working for several international companies and their global partners has allowed me to better understand the various governmental regulations and cultural nuances of countries in various states of development.

Courses I Teach

GSB 600 Organizational Behavior. Provides the foundation for learning about the human side of management - leadership, organizational dynamics, problem solving, motivation, power and influence.

GSB 603 International Business. An examination of the global economy, governmental policies and cultural traditions and how they impact international business operations.

GSB 731 Entrepreneurship. An opportunity to learn how individuals can foster their creative skills to engage in self-employment opportunities or to be successful within companies that foster the entrepreneurial spirit.

GSB 732 Operations Management. An analysis of design and production problems and solutions that affect the quality, performance, cost and pricing of products and services.

GSB 800 Strategic Management. The MBA's capstone course. A great opportunity for students to apply the skills and techniques acquired throughout the program to perform business case analyses of successful and not so successful companies.
