DELAY SCHEDULE ON BAD WEATHER DAYS
WINTER 2009-2010
Because of the high percentage of students in residence, it is the policy of Nichols College NOT to cancel classes in the undergraduate day college unless an extreme emergency exists.
However, if weather conditions are sufficiently severe, the College may delay the start of classes until 9:30 a.m. and will run an abbreviated class schedule with 50-minute classes for the remainder of the school day.
The Bad Weather Day procedure is as follows:
1. Classes will start promptly at 9:30 a.m. with the regularly scheduled first period class.
2. On a bad weather day, all classes will meet for an abbreviated 50-minute class period using the schedule below:
1st period: ( 8:00 a.m.) 9:30 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.
2nd period: ( 9:25 a.m.) 10:30 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.
3rd period: (10:50 a.m.) 11:30 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.
BREAK (1:30 p.m.) 12:30 p.m. - 1:20 p.m.
4th period: (12:15 p.m.) 1:30 p.m. - 2:20 p.m.
5th period: ( 2:15 p.m.) 2:30 p.m. - 3:20 p.m.
Special Day Division class sections that normally begin at 3:40 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. will meet at their regularly scheduled start time.
3. In the event that weather conditions may be sufficiently severe to warrant the use of the bad weather day schedule, listen to local radio or television stations below for special bulletins between 6:30 - 8:00 a.m. After 6:30 a.m., you may also use the College Snow Line, extension 2452 or 508-213-2452.
