Professor DesRoches began his career in public accounting with the international accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co.  Next, he spent several years with a small/medium-sized manufacturer in various financial and operations management positions.  This was followed by more than a decade of his owning and operating a number of small businesses in a variety of industries.  For the past 15 years he has been teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses predominantly in accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship.

In addition to his thoroughly enjoying teaching, advising, and counseling students, Richard and his wife Pat like spending time with family, traveling, and gardening.
